Grogan's Bar Dublin

Grogan’s Bar

If there's one pub that's beloved by Dubliners, it's Grogan's. A favourite of all those who have ever passed through its doors, Grogan's is a proper Dublin pub, the kind of place you pass by and poke your head into just to see who's in. On a sunny day, you'll find half of the city congregating on the outdoor seats, watching the world go by with a pint in hand.

If you're ambling through town and the weather isn't on your side, Grogan's will always lure you through the door. If you need to warm the cockles, they do an excellent hot whisky, as well as one of the best pints of Guinness in the city.

Inside, it's a cosy, welcoming boozer where you can tuck yourself away in the corner and spy on all the people coming and going. You never know who you might spot... one afternoon, Glen Hansard, Amy Schumer and Judd Apatow led a little sing song with a wedding party, who had popped into the pub after their ceremony. It's that kind of place.

You can't leave Grogan's without trying the quintessential Dublin pub snack - the toastie. These toasted cheese and ham sandwiches may not be anything fancy, but they sure do they hit the spot. They arrive with a pot of Colman's on the side, so you can dunk your sandwich in a dollop of mustard.
